As part of an initiative to shift HP’s focus from engineering to customer needs, the Brand Innovation Lab was established to evangelize the importance of user experience amongst internal staff, thereby redefining the brand. The Lab was little more than an experiment however: despite executive-level support and a comprehensive offering of lectures, publications, and workshops, it did not survive much more than six months.
